Your Impact:

As a Cloud Engineer you will drive Skyward Federal's cloud capabilities by architecting and managing secure solutions that enable mission success. Your expertise in cloud infrastructure, identity management, and VDI directly strengthens our ability to deliver reliable, scalable platforms for ultra-sensitive multi-domain operations.

Priorities/Areas of Focus:

• Cloud Infrastructure - Design and optimize cloud environments
• Security & Identity - Implement robust access management solutions
• Platform Enhancement - Drive cloud automation and efficiency
• Technical Leadership - Champion cloud best practices and innovation

Primary Responsibilities:

• Design and manage scalable Azure and AWS cloud environments and services
• Design and optimize Azure Virtual Desktop Infrastructure environments
• Implement and maintain Entra/Active Directory identity solutions
• Configure and manage SSO solutions using OIDC protocols
• Develop Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform, ARM, CloudFormation, etc.
• Enforce security standards through Group Policy Objects
• Monitor cloud performance and maintain high availability
• Support cloud migrations and transformation initiatives
• Partner with development teams on cloud-native solutions
• Contribute to platform and application development initiatives
• Provide technical guidance across organization on cloud best practices
• Drive multi-cloud strategy and implementation

Core Competencies:

• Deep expertise in AWS and Microsoft Azure cloud services and infrastructure
• Strong experience with Azure VDI design and management
• Excellence in identity management (Entra/Active Directory)
• Understanding of authentication protocols (OIDC, SSO)
• Proficiency in automation and IaC (Terraform, ARM, CloudFormation, etc.)
• Experience with cloud migration and transformation projects
• PowerShell and Python scripting capabilities
• Cloud security and compliance implementation expertise
• Clear technical communication and documentation skills
• Problem-solving in complex cloud environments
• Platform and application development experience
• Familiarity with classified DoD and IC environments and security requirements
• Understanding of DevSecOps practices

Potential Development Path:

• Cloud Engineer > Sr. Cloud Engineer > Cloud Solutions Architect > Technical Director
